Today is another topic that can be such a huge struggle for so many of us, which is what to do with our children’s things when they are no longer here. Is it okay that I have left everything exactly where it was? What if I lost an adult child, and I wasn’t given the things I wanted that were special to me?
These are some of the things Laura talks about in today’s episode. If this is a hurdle you have been able to get across, feel free to share a word of encouragement to others who are struggling in the comments under the episode on the website.

Grieving Parents Sharing Hope (GPS Hope) is here to walk with parents through the darkness of child-loss, guiding them to a place of hope, light and purpose.
It is a safe place for anyone who has lost a child from this earth. There is no shame or judgment in where you are in this journey, including if you are struggling in your relationship with God or your faith has been completely shattered.
Sonya Smith says
Jammica (Ja-mee-kah) Smith left me at the age of 34. In January 9, 2022 I was obliterated with grief. She had just left a gathering with her close friends at 1:00am of this day, went to her apartment and soon after calling an ambulance to take her to an emergency room where she sat in the waiting room for hours where she sub-come to her pain. At 9:51am on that day, the world completely stopped for me. I was about to turn into the hospital parking lot when her boyfriend called me with that tragic news. She is my world! We would talk for time beyond time about so many things but this day I didn’t get a call from her asking for me to come help her. I placed all of her belongings in storage within the week of her death and sobbed endlessly. Her son, her only child Ethan was 10 years old, she was planning his 11th birthday celebration, oh how my heart aches for this child to have to cope with this loss. I still have some of her things and my home to a total mess so I go through her things little by little. I have Ethan’s bedroom set in my extra bedroom (my old office) with pictures of him and his mom everywhere. He is such a good child but sad and lonely. I truly understand him but I really don’t because I don’t really know how it feel to lose a mother at the age of 10.
I found you by scrolling on You-Tube after my morning prayer and I cried! FINALLY I FOUND SOMEONE WHO CAN RELATE! I don’t have a in person group to share here in Illinois but maybe one day there will be one that resonates with me.
