One of the struggles I hear from pareavors is the question: Why bother praying if God is just going to do whatever He wants to do and did not keep my child from dying?
This is something that bothered me as well for quite some time. In this podcast episode I talk about this area of prayer in our lives, along with sharing something the Holy Spirit showed me about why it is still important to pray.

Grieving Parents Sharing Hope (GPS Hope) is here to walk with parents through the darkness of child-loss, guiding them to a place of hope, light and purpose.
It is a safe place for anyone who has lost a child from this earth. There is no shame or judgment in where you are in this journey, including if you are struggling in your relationship with God or your faith has been completely shattered.
Lisa M Morris says
You DO make a difference. I love to listen to
You. I personally do not know another person who has lost a child. In fact todays podcast especially touched me because I have struggled with why should I pray to God if he already has it all planned out. Iprayed morning, noon and night for God to heal my son. My son Mitchel Charles Morris passed away 10/15/2019. And it wasn’t even from the Tramatic Brain injury. The hospital gave him a blood infection. It seemed as if God had played a crule joke. Thank you for being here with me in my life wreching struggle.
Prayers said for you and your family. God bless you . Lisa Morris
Laura Diehl says
Lisa, I am so sorry about Mitchel… that is so hard… I am glad this episode helped you, and thank you for the encouragement. Hugs.

Oh! Laura, your podcasts and weekly words of encouragement have been a tremendous life line to me, since I found GPS-Hope. site. I was battling so much with my Faith and so angry with God for not saving our youngest son Mark – a high above knee amputee, who met with an accident four years ago, while holidaying alone, thousands of miles away from us.
You understand what I am going through, as you have been there. This message has helped me to think, what at first I could not, would not and did not want to. You have a gift from God and I for one, am so grateful that you are using it to help others like me. Thank you. Yes, I do pray for you, Dave and your family, that the Lord will keep you strong in all ways Blessings. Eve Walker in UK

Absolutely, you are making a difference! Even after my loss of over 30 years, you have taught me things I didn’t know, or wasn’t interested in learning.
You have been my mentor, really! I pray you find it in you to keep going, and of course take time to rest! But trust in youself to know what to do. Your flock will support you:)
Laura Diehl says
Cindy, wow, that is so precious… thank you. Hugs!

I cannot explain in words how helpful you have been in my grief journey. I want to encourage you today to keep doing what you are doing! Remember Satan will do anything in his power to try and discourage and destroy the work of Christ. Even if you don’t feel like you are making a difference- know in your heart, you are. As you always do, speak the truth when Satan attacks. Praying for you now that God will lead you with His wisdom, love and grace. You are a GOOD tree who bears GOOD fruit ♥️♥️♥️
Laura Diehl says
Fran, thank you for your words of encouragement. I really appreciate it.

Laura,
Please don’t stop doing all that you do for pareavers. I listen to your podcast regularly and I look forward to your weekly emails. I lost two daughters in two years and it’s so helpful to listen to someone who GETS IT! This episode about praying was right on time because I find it
so difficult to pray now. God is truly using you and I’m sorry that I haven’t told you how much you’re appreciated more often. You are definitely hearing the lies of the enemy in terms of stopping. I look out for your emails and podcast to help get me through the week. Your words are like a breath of fresh air. I can’t bring myself to go back to church yet but I know God speaks to me through you so please continue to encourage us all.
Laura Diehl says
Tori, thank you. I am so sorry for your double loss. My heart goes out to you. I am thankful that what I share has been a help to you. Hugs!

Laura, I’ve just recently “found” you and so grateful. Your podcast on prayer is one of those unspoken angst that grieving parents feel. I appreciated the word picture of the ruling king who makes decisions on a greater perspective than we can have.
My son Jordan, only married 12 days died in a workplace accident in Oct 2012. I prayed for that boy his entire life. God protected him countless of times. But at the age of 23, he died. It took me a long time to come to acknowledge that God is still good even when He allows suffering.
May God strengthen you & give you His favour as you encourage other broken hearts.
Laura Diehl says
Shirley, How heart breaking! I am glad you found us, but sorry you had a reason to. I hope you stay connected so we can walk this journey together.
